Job Responsibilities

As an Intermediate Designer at Nedbank, you will play a key role in shaping the user experience of our products and services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating user experience into the design of products and services
  • Designing interfaces to effectively communicate the brand and enrich the customer experience
  • Developing compelling visual artifacts (UI layouts, interface elements, prototypes, high-level storyboards, mock-ups, wireframes, etc.) to effectively communicate UI and UX needs
  • Researching the latest visual design, UI and interaction concepts, presentation layer technologies, digital best practices, online trends, and providing recommendations for improvements
  • Conducting best practice research to develop and improve UI and interaction design to solve end-user problems effectively
  • Formulating testing parameters to effectively assess user experience
  • Conducting competitor research to develop and improve features of products and to balance user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives to solve user problems effectively
  • Understanding scope, requirements, and driving innovative solutions aligned with business goals and UX metrics
  • Developing user experience flows and integrating them into mock-ups, usage scenarios, prototypes, specifications, navigation maps, and other design documents
  • Advocating for the end-user throughout the development process and working closely with other members of the design team to craft a world-class user experience
  • Collaborating on creating solid recommendations on design projects or artifacts to build or enhance product/service/solution offerings
  • Learning, understanding, and adhering to design standards, frameworks, and guidelines and seeking advice and support where required
  • Adhering to our client-centered design process
  • Using user feedback from user testing results to deliver the best customer experience
  • Working within the scope and timelines of each project to ensure agreed deadlines are met
  • Adhering to consistent design patterns and principles that are supported by the necessary standards
  • Actively seeking to support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives, and values by ensuring delivery of process, services, and solutions
  • Building capabilities by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from management
  • Continuously researching and understanding insights into world standards and best practices

Essential Qualifications – NQF Level

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

Preferred Certifications

  • Certification in Design from an accredited Design School

Minimum Experience Level

  • 3 – 6 years experience
