Job Purpose

Bidvest International Logistics is looking to hire Picker Packers who will play a crucial role in pulling and packing products based on customer orders. The primary responsibility is to ensure the timely and accurate fulfillment of orders while maintaining the quality of products in the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Activities

  • Timely put-away and picking of cargo
  • Picking and binning of orders using scanners
  • Verification of cargo for dispatch
  • Conducting physical stock counts
  • Re-palletizing of cargo
  • Loading and off-loading of road vehicles and containers
  • Tallying inward cargo
  • Housekeeping and CHEP Pallet daily counts
  • Maintenance of SHEQ activities in the work area
  • Implementation and maintenance of 5s activities in the responsible area

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12
  • 1+ years of warehouse experience
  • Experience in a warehouse management system is advantageous
  • Proficiency in using scanners

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to handle stress and work under pressure
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • High efficiency levels
  • Independence

Candidate Requirements

To be eligible for the ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: Between 17 and 25 years old.
  • Education: Currently in Grade 12 or have obtained university exemption.
  • Financial Need: Require financial assistance to pursue a qualification in performing or visual arts at a South African tertiary/accredited institution for studies commencing in 2025.
  • Enrollment Status: Not currently registered at a tertiary institution/accredited institution for the 2024 academic year.
  • Qualifications: Do not hold an existing tertiary qualification in an arts/creative discipline from a South African tertiary/accredited institution.
  • Professional Status: Not considered a professional artist, which includes individuals with specialized training or those employed full-time in their artistic discipline.
  • Previous Participation: Not a participant or finalist in the 2023 ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme.
  • Commitment: Willing and able to commit to the 6-month duration of the programme.
  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.

How to Apply

To apply for the ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme, candidates must complete the online application form and submit the following supporting attachments:

  1. ID Copy: Front and back.
  2. Academic Results: Previous semester or last academic results.
  3. Consent Form: Signed consent form, available for download on the official website.

Performing Arts Video OR Visual Arts Portfolio

  • Performing Arts: Submit a 2-minute video performing in your selected discipline. For singing, prepare a song of your choice that showcases your vocal range and talent. For dance, prepare a dance/movement piece. For theatre/acting, prepare a monologue from Addendum 2 provided on the website.
  • Visual Arts: Submit four different and original pieces of work, including a portrait, a landscape, and two original artworks. Also include a short bio and artist statement (70-100 words each) detailing the reason for the creation of your artworks.
