The Actuarial Bursary covers all essential aspects of education, including tuition, accommodation with meals, allowances, travel support, incentives for performance, academic and emotional support, networking opportunities, and vacation work. Upon graduation, bursary recipients enjoy guaranteed employment, one-on-one mentoring by experienced actuaries, and exposure to a diverse in-house rotation program for professional development.

Accounting Bursary Program

Old Mutual extends accounting bursaries to those aspiring to pursue careers in Chartered Accounting. This program covers full tuition costs at various universities, including residence fees and an annual return flight for non-local students. Additionally, it offers vacation work, incentives for academic excellence, and book and general allowances. Bursary holders commit to Old Mutual CA Training Programme and subsequent work with the company for a specified period.

Old Mutual Bursaries Requirements and Eligibility Criteria

Actuarial Bursary

  • South African citizenship
  • A minimum grade of A in Mathematics (excluding Maths Literacy) and Bs in all other matric subjects
  • Enrollment at specified universities

Accounting Bursary

  • South African citizenship
  • Matric with at least 70% or Level 6 in all subjects, including Mathematics (excluding Maths Literacy) and English
  • Commitment to Old Mutual’s CA Training Programme
