Candidate Requirements

To be eligible for the ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Currently in Grade 12 or have obtained university exemption.
  • Financial Need: Require financial assistance to pursue a qualification in performing or visual arts at a South African tertiary/accredited institution for studies commencing in 2025.
  • Enrollment Status: Not currently registered at a tertiary institution/accredited institution for the 2024 academic year.
  • Qualifications: Do not hold an existing tertiary qualification in an arts/creative discipline from a South African tertiary/accredited institution.
  • Professional Status: Not considered a professional artist, which includes individuals with specialized training or those employed full-time in their artistic discipline.
  • Previous Participation: Not a participant or finalist in the 2023 ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme.
  • Commitment: Willing and able to commit to the 6-month duration of the programme.
  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
