The Following Position Is Available At Samancor | FA Specialist (Stores). Samancor is seeking qualified candidates for the position of FA Specialist (Stores) based in Steelpoort. Interested individuals are invited to apply before the closing date of 14 February 2024.

Purpose of the Job

The role involves controlling and optimizing stores operations to enhance service levels and reduce costs while ensuring safety and compliance with relevant standards.

Safety Health Environment Risk Quality (SHERQ)

  • Manage SHERQC compliance through effective toolbox usage.
  • Identify and mitigate risk exposures.
  • Ensure SHEQ compliance and utilize the Integrated Management System (IMS).


  • Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor satisfaction levels and address concerns.
  • Conduct surveys and investigate non-conformances.

Business Process


  • Supervise and develop the team.
  • Maintain labor stability and implement career development plans.
  • Conduct recruitment and training activities.

Inventory Control

  • Oversee inventory processes including ordering, receiving, and issuing.
  • Manage stock requisitions and counting procedures.

Computer Systems

  • Supervise stores computer systems.

Critical Items

  • Manage critical items and maintain material master data.
  • Handle obsolete stocks and diesel reconciliations.

Repairable and Rotable Stock Items

  • Manage repairable and rotable stock items, including warranty claims.
  • Investigate abnormal reservations.


  • Review, update, and develop SOP’s for efficient warehousing.


  • Lead stores team for efficient warehousing.
  • Optimize stock holding and rotable items.
  • Develop reports for monitoring departmental objectives.


  • Drive continuous improvement through operational excellence.

Shareholder Value

  • Monitor and control stores costs to enhance shareholder value.


  • Minimum qualification: Degree or National Diploma.
  • 4 years relevant experience with 1-year supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of SAP and COUPA, along with computer literacy.

  • Problem-solving, networking, change leadership, and business acumen.

Selection Procedure

  • Panel interviews and assessments will be conducted.
