Application Deadline

Bursary Overview

The IUCMA was established with a mission to protect, develop, conserve, manage, and control the nation’s water resources. In alignment with its goals, the agency is providing bursaries for the academic year to support students pursuing studies in relevant scientific disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria

The bursary is open to South African nationals residing in the Mpumalanga Province within the Water Management region of the IUCMA. To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Matric certificate with a minimum average of 65%
  • Provide proof of admission to a higher learning institution or a provisional acceptance letter
  • Be accepted at a recognized Higher Learning Institution
  • Currently enrolled or planning to enroll in one of the specified scientific fields of study

Fields of Study

The IUCMA Bursary program applies to students pursuing degrees in the following fields:

  • BSc/B Degree in Environmental Science
  • BSc in Hydrology/Water Resource Management
  • BSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Microbiology
  • BSc in Geohydrology, Geomorphology, and Botany

Financial Coverage

Successful applicants will receive financial assistance covering registration, tuition, and test fees. Additionally, the bursary includes provisions for lodging, food, instructional materials, and a stipend.

  • South African Matric certificate (with a minimum average of 65%)
