About South African Diamond and Precious Metals Regulator

Established in accordance with Section 3 of the Diamonds Amendment Act, 2005 (Act 29 of 2005), the SADPMR plays a crucial role in regulating the diamond and precious metals industries. Its primary objectives include ensuring equitable access to the Republic’s resources and promoting local beneficiation, all while adhering to the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme. The organization’s focus is on the responsible and sustainable exploitation and development of these valuable resources in the best interest of the people of South Africa.

Available Internship Opportunities and Requirements

The SADPMR, in collaboration with the Mining Qualification Authority (MQA), is seeking self-motivated and qualified graduates to join the internship programme. The organization is specifically interested in high-achieving individuals in the following fields:

  • We are looking for high-achieving graduates in the following fields:
    Jewellery    Design                  and Manufacture (x3 Candidates to be based in Jewellers     Industry     – Germiston) Diploma/ National Diploma in Jewellery Design and Manufacture Head Office REF: JHB01
    Inspectorate (x1 candidate to based in Head Office- Kempton Park) Degree/ Honours Degree in Metallurgy Head Office REF: JHB02
    Internal Auditing (x1 Candidate to be based in Head Office – Kempton Park) Post Graduate Diploma in Internal Auditing Head Office REF: JHB03


  • South African citizens aged between 18 and 35
  • Completed qualification in the specified disciplines

  • Direct your application to the HR Manager.
  • Include a comprehensive CV.
  • Provide an application letter indicating the relevant division and reference number.

Successful candidates will be required to enter into an Internship Agreement with the SADPMR. While the organization is not obligated to employ interns upon completion of the programme, it does provide a monthly stipend.
